The cozy bar opened in the Fall of 2023 and quickly earned a devoted following among the many residents living nearby with great wines, hot food, and more. Promising locally-sourced wines, The Cork Room has a wide variety of natural and specialty wines available in all forms.

📍2930 Dr MLK Jr St N.

A new hot spot for NY bagels and exquisite pastries. Their bagels come straight from the Bronx and you can add cream cheese, or bacon, egg, and cheese. Lunch program is in the works.

📍589 22nd Street South

A modern cafe bringing elevated breakfast, brunch and lunch to the city. The concept soft opened at the end of January. Chef Mario Brugnoli, most recently of Rocca fame in Tampa, promises “food for your soul” and local art.

One of the best sushi food trucks in the region now has a brick and mortar. Their Boujee Musubi platter looks fantastic. And we can’t wait to try more of their rolls.

Hometown fave Kahwa Coffee opened a one-of-a-kind cafe constructed entirely from repurposed shipping containers on the main stretch of 4th Street.

 

📍2063 Central Ave

A brand new cheesesteak and burger hub in the Grand Central District. This Philly-inspired hub is the brainchild of Philadelphia-born-and-raised chef Sean Ford, and local business owner Renaud Cowez.

📍7219 Central Avenue

Mama G’s Authentic Germany Bakery is a family-owned gem that serves St. Pete and Sarasota. Their apple strudel is one of the best pastries in the state of Florida and there are few things more satisfying than dipping one of their fabulous almond horns in a hot cup of coffee. 

 

📍170 Beach Drive NE

Cassis recently launched The Market at Cassis, showcasing freshly made pizzas, baked goods, full coffee service, and a wide range of to-go treats. Housed in the former Cassis Bakery, The Market transformed the neighboring locale into a pizzeria, café and market that provides tasty new offerings as well as a few of their old favorites

📍1700 4th St S

McMullen Fish House is a neighborhood fish market and food truck. Their smoked mullet and their Grouper Po’ Boys look delicious. Their Family Feaster Catfish Fry features 2 pounds of fresh catfish nuggets and a full pound of hush puppies for under $30.

 

📍260 1st Ave N

A new club has arrived on 1st Ave N. They promise martinis, dancing, elegance, and good times.

 

📍2533 1st Ave S

A blend of wine, flowers, coffee, and community has opened in the Grand Central District. Selling flowers by the stem, small bites, wines from Oregon and Washington, and more – the bungalow is sure to be a cozy spot for both early birds and night owls.

 

📍18 22nd St S

A quirky new vegan and gluten-free cafe and mocktail bar in the Grand Central District. Rabbit Rabbit’s menu includes lattes, smoothies, gorgeous mocktails, light bites, and more.

 

📍1431 Central Avenue

One of our fave food trucks in the Tampa Bay region has permanently set up shop in the EDGE District. Their famed dumplings, rangoon, and dirty rice are a welcome addition to the bustling neighborhood.

A new pop-up inside Bandit Coffee, Small Bar is a taste of their upcoming Spitz Wine Bar coming later this year. With space for just over a dozen guests and very limited reservations available, it has a vibrant food and drink menu.

Tiki Tim’s serves up mainstay East Coast eats from Maryland and Philadelphia. They pair their mainland eats with island-inspired cocktails. Their Orange Crush uses orange juice freshly-squeezed right in front of you.

📍3650 Tyrone Boulevard North

The Sarasota-based Wicked Cantina opened its first St. Pete restaurant. Loved for their margaritas and a wide variety of Austin-inspired Tex-Mex cuisine, they’re also one of the few places left that offers free chips and salsa for the table (provided other purchases are made, of course).

The Sarasota-based Wicked Cantina opened its first St. Pete restaurant. Loved for their margaritas and a wide variety of Austin-inspired Tex-Mex cuisine, they’re also one of the few places left that offers free chips and salsa for the table (provided other purchases are made, of course).

The godfather of the tiki movement now has his very own restaurant on Madeira Beach. It features a wide array of Polynesian-inspired fare and a full menu of rum-filled tiki drinks.

BLTs and buckets of beer, anyone? One of our favorite downtown outposts for good drinks and eats is now open at a third location as of February 1.

True to its namesake, Route 66, the diner is home to classic decor, diner grub, and even a classic cruise-in car show on the 2nd Friday of the month.

📍2823 Central Avenue
A restaurant focused on seafood, fried chicken, and welcoming vibes is coming to the Grand Central District. Tampa Bay local Nate Siegel, co-founder of Willa’s and Willa’s Provisions in Tampa, is leading the new concept. Cheeky’s says to expect an experience that combines a New England oyster bar with a fried chicken shack in the “open and breezy” casual space. Read the full story!

The former Dirty Shirley space has been sold to Christophe Guillot and Philippe Challeau, owners/operators of the popular Bacchus Wine Bistro. The new concept, Cognac, will be a laid-back Parisian bistro with ample indoor/outdoor seating. Read the full story!

Craft Kafe is opening a fourth location inside the Skyway Village shopping plaza. The new location has a much larger footprint and will allow them to expand their offerings with a small portion being used for a public-facing cafe and the majority used for production and kitchen space. A new fun dining experience is coming to downtown St. Pete, as ‘The Crane’ announced a January 2022 opening at 575 Central Avenue. The steak and seafood concept is being opened by the owners of Mangosteen, which has proved to be massively popular since it opened earlier in 2022. Read the full story!

📍101 3rd Ave N

A contemporary Mediterranean restaurant located within the newly constructed Galaxy Hotel (101 3rd Ave N). Spearheaded by accomplished restaurateur, Shan Bakrac, Eve promises to offer a unique culinary experience inspired by a diverse array of Mediterranean flavors and culinary techniques. The star of the new concept coming to the old Caddy’s on Central is the New York-style pizza which is made from family recipes for the dough and sauce that have been passed down for generations since its patriarch moved from Italy and perfected the recipes in NYC. The Ciccio Restaurant Group is bringing their Green Lemon concept across the bridge! H/t to St. Pete Rising for the story. A go-to in South Tampa for tacos, margaritas, and Fiesta Bowls will open later this year. 

📍2462 5th Ave S

The beloved vegan and gluten-free bakery, and bistro, will open a new location in the former home of The Chelsea St. Pete at 2462 5th Ave S. The news was first reported by St. Pete Rising and later confirmed by HaleLife owner Laura McCutcheon.

📍200 Central Avenue

Taking over the former restaurant space known as “The Mill” is an “upscale casual concept focusing on foraged, hunted, and farmed ingredients”. Read the full story on St. Pete Rising.

📍895 Central Ave

Originally reported by St. Pete Rising, the stunning new upscale steakhouse is set to transform the historic Union Trust bank building in downtown St. Pete. Renderings for the space include a showpiece chandelier, dramatic ceilings, and stunning design by Angie Wetzel of InterLux Interiors.

📍400 Beach Drive

The owners of Allelo St. Pete on Beach Drive have announced their newest restaurant, Juno & the Peacock. The menu at Juno & the Peacock will combine American fare, like dry-aged steaks, with modern coastal cuisine, such as a seafood tower with a signature twist, seared grouper, and crab cakes approved by Maryland-raised owner Shawn Damkoehler. From the owners of Noble Crust and Fat Beet Farm, this will be a mashup of the two concepts, creating a craft cocktail bar, taking the atmosphere of an old world tavern, and wrapping it into a modern design. One of the Tampa Bay Area’s most celebrated chefs is bringing his beloved concept, Olivia, to St. Pete. Known for his highly acclaimed Ponte in Midtown as well as Olivia in Tampa, Chef Ponte is set to make a significant mark on downtown St. Pete with the modern Italian restaurant.  Read the full story!

📍St. Pete Pier – 335 2nd Ave NE

The St. Petersburg Museum of History announced today that the local Seed & Feed Hospitality Group is opening Perry’s Porch as part of the museum’s expansion. The indoor/outdoor concept will be a restaurant and coffee bar situated to the west of the museum’s main building. Read the full story!

📍2458 Central Ave

H/t to St. Pete Rising for the story. The delicious and beloved Pin On Cafe will relocate from 1100 Central Ave in the EDGE District to the Grand Central District. Rising reports that the new location is over twice the size of their current location and we can’t wait to see it!

📍6001 Central Avenue

One of our favorite downtown spots for tasty Mexican eats is about to open a west side location. Red Mesa Group announced today that Red Mesa Mercado is debuting a second location in the Pasadena area, at 6001 Central Avenue in St. Pete. Read the full story!

📍2520 Central Avenue

From the folks behind the wonderful Bandit St. Pete, comes a new spot promising “real wines” and “tasty bites,” with an opening date expected to be sometime in early-to-mid 2024. Read the full story here.

📍455 75th Ave North.

St. Pete Beach is set to welcome the vibrant Tiki Bagel with authentic bagels from Brooklyn courtesy of Noshman’s Bagels. The bagels boast a 125-year-old recipe. The shop will also feature a cereal bar for kids making it a perfect breakfast stop for families headed to the beach. Read the full story.

Originally reported by St. Pete Rising, The Violet Stone will be moving into the spaces formerly occupied by Neighborhood Joe and House of Pipes and Cigars. Their massive mozzarella sticks and gorgeous pizzas are some of our faves in the city.

A brewpub concept inspired by European beer halls is opening soon in downtown St. Pete. It’s set to open in the former Orange Blossom Catering location. They’ll serve craft beers and elevated pub fare including smash burgers, pizzas, mussels, sandwiches, giant pretzels, and more. Read the full story.

Achain known for its chicken wings, hand-breaded strips, and crispy chicken sandwiches, is expanding its presence to St. Petersburg and Tampa. The franchise, which has gained huge popularity in New York City, focuses on offering a variety of chicken dishes accompanied by scratch-made dipping sauces, unique dipper fries, and fresh-baked Sugar Cookies.
