St. Pete just got a stellar new tiki bar: Tiki Tim’s, which officially opened on April 3. An “official official” grand opening is set for May 18. Tiki Tim’s doesn’t sling the usual island foods, but mainstay East Coast eats from Maryland and Philadelphia. We’re talking juicy Philly cheese steaks and Maryland-style crab cakes. Tiki Tim’s is located at 923 72nd St N.
While the eats are mainland, the cocktails are island-inspired. Popular specialties include the Orange Crush (made with freshly squeezed orange juice—they juice ‘em right in front of you). There’s also the Tiki Torch, Coco-Melon, and a familiar favorite, the Rum Runner.

Tiki Tim’s slings authentic eats from Philly and Maryland
Many Philadelphia and Maryland transplants have been raving about the authenticity of the food. The loaded cheese steaks are made the proper way, with amoroso rolls (it’s a Philly thing), and the crab cakes with big chunks of blue crab—no fillers in these whoppers. Peruse the full menu here.
While waiting for your order, I recommend taking advantage of the happy hour prices. Domestic beers during happy hour are $3.50. House wines and well-drinks are fifty cents off. Embrace the beachy vibe at this new, laid-back neighborhood restaurant and bar.
