A new fun dining experience is coming to downtown St. Pete, as ‘The Crane’ announced a January 2022 opening at 575 Central Avenue. The steak and seafood concept is being opened by the owners of Mangosteen, which is closing in on its own opening day right across the street.

On its new Instagram page, The Crane describes itself as a “Steak/Seafood Restaurant & Classic Cocktail bar.”

The full restaurant will be open 10 am – 10 pm, and clues from hashtags indicate an Asian influence with offerings such as steak, lobster and sushi.

Renderings of the exterior show significant upgrades coming to the building that formerly housed Wig Villa, on the corner of Central Avenue and 6th Street. Outdoor dining lines both sides of the building, pairing with the rooftop bar to create tons of space to enjoy the Sunshine City al fresco.

Follow The Crane on social and be sure to check back here at I Love The Burg for more updates on the exciting new development.

Editor’s note: a previous version of this article stated there would be a rooftop bar complement to the restaurant. The article has been updated to reflect that there will not be a rooftop bar at The Crane.
