Great news for Francophiles in St. Pete: you don’t have to cough up for a flight on Air France to take yourself to Paris this summer. Mademoiselle Paris Restaurant and Bakery in Gulfport is transporting locals straight to the City of Lights every day and night, bringing that French joie de vivre to Beach Boulevard.
Housed inside the beautiful Peninsula Bed & Cocktails (2937 Beach Blvd S), Mademoiselle Paris is run by French entrepreneurs and husband-and-wife team Myriam and Jean Dandonneau, who created the concept with the dream of bringing an authentic French experience to Florida. The mission has been more than accomplished with their fantastic bakery and restaurant.

Scratch-made pastries and traditional French dining star at Mademoiselle
By morning, Mademoiselle Paris is a classic French cafe offering fresh-baked croissants and pastries and strong coffee to be enjoyed on the shaded patio or inside the cozy dining room. It’s the kind of stop a flaneur can’t resist. As the hours turn to midday, the restaurant has a particularly impressive lunch and brunch service filled with savory crepes, refreshing salads, and traditional French-style sandwiches.
When the sun sets, Mademoiselle Paris oozes with all the romance of its namesake city, and it may well be the best new date night spot in Pinellas County. The dinner menu is a showcase of French cuisine, offering elevated dishes in a relaxed and romantic bistro setting. Classics like escargots, French onion soup and foie gras get the meal started, while lamb chops, a tantalizing honey-spice duck breast, and steak frites provide traditional entree options. While we’re inclined to keep it fully French, Mademoiselle Paris also leans into its location with a “Grouper A La Riviera Sandwich,” a French Riviera-inspired riff on the classic Florida grouper sandwich. That one has our attention.
Pair any of it with a glass of wine or French-inspired cocktail and you have the makings of a perfect night in Paris without leaving the peninsula.

The result is a classic French bistro that’s every bit as approachable as it is impressive. The touches by the French-born duo of Myriam and Jean speak to the commitment to quality and authenticity. The culinary team uses traditional French techniques, premium butter, fresh herbs, quality cheeses, and imported French products whenever possible.
What we love the most is that Mademoiselle Paris embraces the classic Parisian bistro where you can stop in morning, noon or night. In fact, one of the most popular orders at the Gulfport restaurant – beyond the steak au poivre and croque monsieur – is the crepes. The buckwheat crepes are naturally gluten-free and are made in the tradition of France’s Brittany region. On the savory side, the Creamy Mushroom Chicken Crepe is a crowd favorite. If you’re feeling something sweet, the French Nutella Crepe is one of the most popular things on their daytime menu.
Mademoiselle Paris got its start in Sarasota, and in the time since it has rocketed to stardom, racking up more than half a dozen major awards, including Best French Restaurant in Florida. The debut of the new Gulfport restaurant at the end of 2025 has been a boon for locals, bringing a relaxed and authentic Parisian experience to the area.
