St. Pete’s Top Vegan Spots

St. Pete is a vegan-friendly city. There’s something for vegan diners on nearly every menu in the Burg, but we decided to select several that stand out to us. The flavors at these restaurants are freaking exquisite, bursting with flavor and could probably convert even the most ardent carnivore. What’s your favorite vegan restaurant? Let us know what we missed in the comments below!

📍3118 3rd Ave N

The reincarnation of the original Cider Press Café on Central Ave is open and serving up some of the tastiest vegan pub food we’ve seen. Their perfectly golden ish n chips uses banana blossom instead of fish. The Jambalaya balls and bang bang “shrimp” are also faves of ours.

📍2930 Beach Blvd S

The Gulfport vegan deli, restaurant, and bakery is your one-stop shop for your junk food faves with gorgeous desserts that constantly wow us. Must-try items include the Toctogon, Cuban sandwich, and Chili cheese waffle fries.

📍1900 1st Ave S

The newest vegan spot in the Burg opened a gorgeous space late last year. A restaurant and cocktail bar, they serve some amazing dishes including Carolina BBQ Tofu Fries, Chimichurri Tempeh with Mofongo and Kimchi Fried Rice.

Halelife Bakery

📍205 1st St. N

This gluten-free and vegan bakery is a delight. Their St. Pete location in the heart of downtown serves up the cutest cakey donuts, soft-baked cookies, and cupcakes around. Don’t forget to look in their freezer grab and go because the soft pretzel bites are FANTASTIC. They just started serving a bistro menu featuring flatbreads, handheld melts, and more.

📍655 31st South

Disclaimer: Everything they make is beautiful. You have to try their Volcano Roll made with avocado, cucumber, and topped with spicy vegan dynamite, vegan caviar, spicy mayo, sriracha, vegan eel sauce, and green onions. They also serve up some scrumptious ramen and house-made dumplings!

Love Food Central

📍2057 Central Ave

Love Food is one of my all-time go-to spots in the city for vegan food that is also gluten-free. I’m addicted to the Buffalo Tempeh Sandwich, the Mac ‘n’ Cheeze, and their Carmelita bars. Their housemade black bean and beet burger is a staple, the moon pies divine, and the Laura Palmer is the perfect drink to wash it all down.

📍6575 Park Blvd

It’s a smörgåsbord of vegan food from wontons to spring rolls to paninis to tacos to burgers. Fave dishes include the Fabulous Pho, Chow Mein noodles, spring rolls, and Singapore noodles. Their fresh juices and the chocolate cake are also must-try menu items.

Nah Dogs

📍Pop-Up

This 100% vegan hot dog cart is one of our absolute fave pop-ups to follow around. Their specials are what we live for. Their recent toppings have included buffalo Mac n cheeze, “bacon” strips, Jalapeño cheddar buns, macaroni salad, bbq sauce and so much more. It’s always a treat!

Plant Love Ice Cream

📍953 Central Ave

One of my favorite ice cream shops in the Burg is a fully vegan delight. Handcrafted in-house with organic ingredients, they scoop flavors like salted caramel praline pecan, orange dream, chocolate peanut butter banana, and my personal favorite: golden milk.

Rays Vegan Soul

📍1330 49th St S (Pop-Up Dates)

Currently operating as “Soul to Go” with vegan Chef Ray, they serve up dang good soul food. Recent menu highlights have included vegan country fried steak with white pepper gravy, vegan Mac and cheese, and black-eyed pea fritters stuffed with vegan bbq jackfruit pulled pork.

Valhalla Bakery St. Pete

📍2462 Central Ave

Their motto is “vegan comfort food done right” and as soon as you step in front of their display cases it shows. We won’t mince words here, you need to try one of their giant cinnamon rolls. They have everything from lemony bundts, to savory breakfast pastries, to rice krispie treats, to cake, and everything in between.

Valkyrie Doughnuts

📍2444 Central Ave

Whether you’re vegan or not – these are some of the best donuts in the Burg. Our faves include their ube, guava cream cheeze filled, french toast, hibiscus orange. Be sure to get there early if you want to get your fix because they still sell out fast!

The Works

📍495 7th Ave N

Brought to you by the Squeeze Juice Works crew! Their menu features medicinal plant-based foods that are downright gorgeous. We love the Kimchi Fried Rice and Shroomin’ Shawarma. Stopping for brunch? Try the Bulgogi Mushroom Melt, Creamy Polenta Bowl, and the Chilaquiles!
