“We can’t wait to show off our newest storefront, share our sweet treats, and we can’t wait to see you there,” wrote the HaleLife owners in the soft opening announcement.
HaleLife’s most decadent options include an apple cinnamon bundt cake, fresh cinnamon rolls, cookie dough and tiramisu donuts, and delicious flatbreads.
Creating a gluten-free cafe in Tampa Bay
So, how did HaleLife Bakery get its start?
Taylor Miller and Laura McCutcheon (son & mother) were both diagnosed with Celiac Disease one year apart back in 2008 and 2009. After being diagnosed Taylor, set out to help other kids who were going through the same struggles as a gluten-free teen by starting his blog, GlutenAway. Taylor’s blog following has grown to over 1.2 million visitors a year.
Both Laura and Taylor started a gluten-free online expo in 2014 as a way to help those who were new to living gluten-free find new safe & great tasting products.
Sweet and safe treats in the Tampa Bay region
In fall of 2016, the duo opened the nation’s first dedicated gluten-free event center and learning kitchen in Clearwater. One year later, in October 2017 they proudly opened the doors to their dedicated gluten-free, dairy, soy & egg free bakery in the front of their center to continue to help serve and support their local gluten-free and Celiac community.
Their rise to prominence is a win for anyone who has even the semblance of a sweet tooth. HaleLife ships nationwide too.
