EARLY PRICING: Tickets are now at the advance price of $25, price will increase to $30 soon so join the Battle now!

One of the biggest issues we run into here at I Love the Burg – and we mean this very seriously – is finding the time and especially the budget to try all the great dining and drinking spots in town. From dive bars and hidden gem taquerias to glitzy new restos and hip cafes, the St. Pete area has so many places to try that our must-visit list will never be complete.

A new competition-based program is solving this problem for us, and we’re thrilled to help it launch. Burg Battles officially kicks off in October, giving locals the opportunity to try a dozen or more new spots in specific categories for monthlong “Battles”, all through one website. For example, October’s inaugural competition is the Burg Brewery Battle, in which all who sign up will get a free pint of beer or a free beer flight at 15+ local breweries, redeemable anytime from October 1-31 simply by showing the bartender your Burg Battles web app. After each visit, you submit a private vote in the app and the brewery with the most 5 star votes is crowned the champion.

Participating breweries include (in alphabetical order):

  • 3 Daughters Brewing (InstaWeb)
  • NEWLY ADDED: Anecdote Brewing Co (InstaWeb)
  • Bayboro Brewing (InstaWeb)
  • Cage Brewing (InstaWeb)
  • NEWLY ADDED: Cycle Brewing (InstaWeb)
  • Dissent Craft Brewing (InstaWeb)
  • Golden Isles Brewing Co. (InstaWeb)
  • Grand Central Brewhouse (InstaWeb)
  • Green Bench Brewing (InstaWeb)
  • If I Brewed the World (InstaWeb)
  • Mad Beach Brewing (InstaWeb)
  • Mastry’s Brewing Co. (InstaWeb)
  • Outcast Brewing Company (Insta)
  • Pee-Pa’s Garage Craft Brewery (InstaWeb)
  • Pinellas Ale Works (InstaWeb)
  • Sesh Brewing (InstaWeb)
  • NEWLY ADDED: St. Pete Brewing Company (InstaWeb)
  • Welton Brewing Company and Oyster Bar (InstaWeb)

For a limited time, the inaugural Brewery Battle is only $25 to participate for the entire first month (price will increase to $30 soon), which means you can try up to 18 beers for 25 bucks during all of October. And unlike other programs, Burg Battles isn’t an automatically renewing membership. Not a big beer drinker? All good, you may want to wait for the tacos or wine bar battle. A few weeks prior, we’ll announce each month’s category, and anyone interested in trying, for instance, the best wings or lattes throughout the St. Pete area, can sign up.

Response from local breweries has been outstanding for the inaugural month of Burg Battles, and what’s particularly nice is how wide the variety is between the craft breweries you can try. The downtown staples are on the list, of course, but you’ll also be able to get free pints everywhere from the beaches to hidden gems throughout West St. Pete and even into Pinellas Park. You can sign up for the Brewery Battle here.

Stay tuned for more breweries being added to the list between now and the October 1 launch. In the meantime, learn more about Burg Battles online, and be on the lookout for future competitions. You can also follow Burg Battles on instagram to see the latest. Is your business interested in participating in a battle? Reach out to Rob at burg@citybattles.com. Cheers!
