Taco, Grouper, and Street Food Festivals coming to St. Pete in 2020

Mark your calendars, folks, because there’s a litany of foodie events on the horizon in St. Petersburg. Gulf to Bay Food Truck Association is a prolific purveyor of local eats. The organization’s themed events also put my small parties to shame. Here are several tasty events planned for 2020 that you need to keep on your radar.

4th Annual Taco Festival

Taco Festival. Need I say more?

The 4th Annual fiesta will take place at Albert Whitted Park on Friday, May 15 from 6-11pm. The food trucks won’t only offer tacos, instead each participating vendor tasked with creating at least one South American-inspired item for the event.

There’s nothing quite like catching the sunset at Albert Whitted Park, with The Dali Museum in the background. Great views, tons of tacos, and a chance to dine and drink with some of the best folks in all of the ‘Burg? Count me in.

Albert Whitted Park is located at 480 Bayshore Drive Southeast.

Grouper Fest on the waterfront

The competition for the best grouper sandwich in all of Tampa Bay is fierce, folks, and I’m pretty sure most diners in the region already have their personal favorite.

For me, it’s Shaner’s in Pass-A-Grille. You can find my full feature on the baby blue beach gem here.

Gulf to Bay Food Truck Association is partnering with Visit St. Pete-Clearwater for this special event celebrating the flaky white fish.

All trucks will be serving up specialty grouper and seafood inspired dishes, along with offering their normal cuisine.

Grouper Fest takes place on July 24 from 6-9pm at Albert Whitted Park.

Street Food Fest makes its return

Prepare for craft beer, live music, and plenty of street food courtesy of the top food trucks in all of Tampa Bay. The St. Pete Street Food Festival makes its return on June 19 from 6-11pm at Albert Whitted Park.

The foodie affair will also feature live music and a few local vendors, so you can get your market fix. A full list of participating food trucks and menu items is still TBA.

Where to indulge next

All of these events are pet- and family-friendly. Indulge, and unwind as the spring gives way to summer in the Sunshine City. That’s right, winter has really only just begun but 2020 already feels like it’s flying by.

Don’t forget, next up is the TWO-DAY St. Pete French Fry Festival, which begins on February 14.

If you need to hold your appetite over until these food-centric events, don’t sleep on the Food & Brews Festival taking place in Pinellas Park on Saturday, February 1.

Other food events to keep on your radar are the Collard Green and Super Greek Festivals happening in the ‘Burg.
