St. Pete Ceramics (593 22nd St S) is back, and the beloved local studio is ready to celebrate its return in a big way. After a devastating fire on January 29 forced it to close, owner Beth Miranda and her team spent the following months rebuilding.
They quietly reopened the doors last month, and now they’re marking the comeback properly with a Grand Re-Opening Block Party on Saturday, October 24. The party will run from 5 to 9 p.m. with live music from Great Jane, BBQ from Zee’s, local craft vendors, and plenty of hands-on art throughout the evening.

Back with more ways to create
The team didn’t just rebuild the studio; they also found new ways to use the space. With more opportunities for workshops and classes, there’s now more room for people to gather and get creative.
At the grand reopening, Miranda will debut a new series called “Inside Out,” with each evening centered around a different emotion and a creative project designed to get people talking about their feelings while making something tangible. The first evening will focus on grief, a subject that became particularly personal for Miranda following the fire.
The series feels like a natural fit for a studio that has spent much of this year rebuilding. And throughout that process, St. Pete Ceramics has publicly thanked the community for its support, saying it made all the difference in helping the studio return.
A block party packed with art
On October 24, guests will have a chance to paint magnets, take part in interactive art activities, and try their hand at throwing clay on the studio’s new mobile pottery bus. Face painting, raffles, and giveaways are also planned, along with live music, food, and local craft vendors throughout the evening.
The grand reopening will bring much of the local art community together to celebrate, and it’s the perfect chance for anyone who hasn’t visited before to check out the newly rebuilt space and see what St. Pete Ceramics has been working on all year.
Celebrate the comeback
The St. Pete Ceramics Grand Re-Opening Block Party takes place this Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m.—and if you can’t make the party, the studio is back open for regular hours Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
After a challenging year, October 24 will be much more than a reopening; it’s a chance to celebrate a fresh start, make some art, and welcome St. Pete Ceramics back to the neighborhood.
