The beaches on the Gulf Coast of Florida are some of the best in the world, and we feel lucky that we can so easily access them from St. Petersburg. Pass A Grill is probably my personal pick for best beach in the state, however there’s another spot that is close to my heart. It’s Secret Garden by Upham Beach (6850 Beach Plaza). No it’s not really a secret, I mean the spot is even on Google Maps. But it’s an enchanting name that offers even more enchanting views on the Northern most point of the park.
There’s no street access to the Secret Garden portion of Upham Beach, you’ll just have to make that white sand stroll to experience it. Remember to leave it as you found it. Be kind and courteous to other who are visiting the beach, and those who reside in the apartment building next to the beach.

When you visit, we highly encourage you to show love for the local businesses that are also just steps away from the white sand beach.
Treat yourself to a cold brew coffee, a new swim suit, or a fresh baked pastry at Grove Surf and Coffee, or enjoy a beautiful açaí bowl from Fresh Factory. Or just take a stroll on Corey Avenue to explore gourmet chocolate shops, the perfect breakfast at La Croisette, or just admire the old Beach Theatre.
There’s also no better spot for cool drink than Paradise Grille at 6850 Beach Plaza (they also operate another location on Pass A Grille Beach.
If you’re looking for a weekend away, The Saint Hotel is also open just minutes away from the beach.
