One of St. Pete’s longest-running brewery locations gets new life

Outside Flying Boat Brewing

After years of servicing the neighborhood, one of St. Pete’s longest-running spots for craft beer is getting new life. Davis Nunneley of Bridgewater Commercial Real Estate announced that a buyer has purchased the property at 1776 11th Avenue North and intends to open a brewery and tap room in the beloved space.

Most recently, the property was home to The Brutalist Brewing, which took over the space from Flying Boat Brewing Company just over two years ago. Included in the $2.3 million purchase is nearly half a million in brewing equipment, which will give the new owners an outstanding floor to build upon. With the hopes that third time will be the charm, Outcast Brewing will open in the coming months.

Centrally located between Historic Uptown and North Kenwood, the building consists of a large brewing facility, a taproom with multiple seating areas, a conference room, and a large outdoor patio. It has long been a favorite for those in the neighborhood and has been a hotspot for craft beer in St. Pete for nearly a decade.

The buyer plans on opening and operating a unique brewery concept that will utilize the entire interior and the outdoor patio. There is plenty of square footage in the airy building, and with the brewing equipment already in place, the new owner ought to be able to make excellent use of the property.

“Ever since this listing hit the market, members of the surrounding neighborhoods have been hoping this location would open as another brewery. I am excited to see what the buyers do with the property, and I have no doubt that it will serve the community well” said Nunneley, Bridgewater’s commercial associate.

The new brewery will join a bustling and fast-growing craft beer community in St. Pete, Pinellas County, and truly all of Tampa Bay. More than 1/4 of all breweries in the state are located in the region, and Pinellas County breweries have earned the nickname “Gulp Coast” for the many excellent options located in the area.

Stay tuned for more details as this new brewery nears opening.
