Hosted by Angela Presnell, Maria Toscano, and Zion Baker, Movement Monday brings dancers, performers, and DJs together for an unforgettable sunset experience grooving on the St. Pete Pier (600 2nd Ave. NE). The event takes place from 7pm–9pm every Monday. When you hear the music, you’ll know where to go. The event is free and open to all ages.
“Our intention is to get people moving to start their week, to be playful,” said Angela and Maria. “To build community, to try new things, and to not take life too seriously.” This is a brilliant way to cure the mind of that tiresome platitude: “I hate Mondays”, and instead start the week off spirited and electric.

Playfulness is contagious
The ever-swelling crowd indicates playfulness is contagious. Since Movement Monday started last year in July 2023, the weekly event has grown from 10 people to upwards of 60, and over 25 DJs from the area have applied to perform at the event.
As for the crowd, Movements Monday attracts shuffle dancers, hip-hop dancers, and a lot of movement arts that use hula hoops, silk fans, dragon staff, poi spinning, and juggling. Many of the props are bedazzled in LED and perfect for when the sun sets.
While the event evokes festivals and dance clubs, the hosts encourage “clean vibes”, meaning, leave the substances at home. The hosts want everyone to relish the natural, good times.
