St. Pete launches “Letters of Love” campaign in honor of Pride Month

St. Pete launches “Letters of Love” campaign in honor of Pride Month

When St. Petersburg Mayor Ken Welch raised the Pride flag above City Hall on June 1, he declared that St. Pete is a city where all can prosper. To tangibly show that support, the city has launched “Letters of Love,” a campaign where locals and visitors can write letters of support to the LGBTQ+ community.

How it works:

  • Local businesses and organizations are hosting pop-up letter writing stations from June 1-30 that are open to the public.
  • Pride allies can take a card, grab a pen, and write their message. Then, they place the letter on the designated wall, where anyone can come read the notes written by the community.
  • Letters can be anything: a personal story, words of encouragement to a stranger, or a message explaining why celebrating Pride month and our LGBTQ+ community is important to you.

Where to find stations:

  • Metro Inclusive Health – 2235 Central Ave. (Grand Central District)
  • Pink Daddies Donuts & Delights – 449 Central Ave. # 102
