Pride Month in St. Pete: A complete guide to 30 days of celebrations

Florida’s largest LGBTQ+ Pride celebration is back, and the 2023 calendar of festivities is as packed as ever. Kicking off this June, this year’s St. Pete Pride is set to be one of the best in its history as the month-long festival celebrates its 21st anniversary.

This year’s festivities are headlined by an Idina Menzel concert, the annual downtown Pride Parade, and the Pride in Grand Central Street Fair. As part of the month of events, St. Pete Pride is hosting activities for people of all ages, indoors and out, night and day. Scroll through the list and mark your calendar for your favorites. 2023 Pride Events

Pride Immersive Experience

What: Have you ever wanted to step inside a rainbow? Immerse yourself in the second annual Fairgrounds St. Pete PRIDE Immersive Experience radiating rainbows for Pride month. Don’t miss this opportunity to see some of your favorite Mermaid Star Motel attractions in an array of new colors, and swing by their latest installation, “Shrimpfinity”, for a glimpse of some larger-than-life spangled shrimp!

‘Queerness’ opening reception at The Werk Gallery

What: One of St. Pete’s newest and great art galleries is debuting its latest show ‘Queerness’ complete with a pop-up fashion show, and several artists, designers, and jewelers all set up to showcase and discuss their creations.

When: Friday, June 2, 5-9pm
Where: The Week Gallery, 2210 1st Ave S 

Kick-Off Party presented by Metro Inclusive Health

What: This key Pride event will bring hundreds of attendees together to celebrate the start of Pride season. The 2023 Kickoff Party will be getting a face-lift, returning to St. Petersburg, celebrating what makes being a part of the LGBTQ+ community in this city great! Attendees will enjoy a DJ, entertainment, and cocktails from within the local community.

When: June 2, 7-10 pm

Artists for Impact

What: Join Artist for Impact and Coastal Creative as they celebrate the vibrant queer art community in St. Pete with a sprawling and experiential art gallery. The event uses art as a vehicle for change, showcasing area queer artists and queer-inspired artwork.

When: June 2, 7-11 pm

PRIDE Market at The St. Petersburg Museum of History

What: To celebrate PRIDE while also highlighting the local businesses that make up and support the LGBTQIA+ community, the St. Petersburg Museum of History and Zoie’s presents PRIDE at the Museum! Experience the incredible market atmosphere and the fun family-friendly event that highlights the business collaboration that has created a community within St. Pete where equity and inclusion are celebrated and given to all residents and visitors.

When: June 3, 10 am – 4 pm

Lines exhibition by Tommy Bayot at The Factory

What: A queer artist, Bayot’s gallery is part of The Factory’s Pride month celebrations, and opening night is June 9th from 6-9 pm. The Lines exhibition is an exploration of lines in both the literal and metaphorical senses, all of which, Bayot says, “embrace love, peace and inclusivity.” His works are an exploration of hidden meanings, clearly defined ideas, and even bursts of nostalgia.

LGBTQ+ Youth Pride & Family Day

What: This joy-filled event will bring thousands of LGBTQ+ youth, queer families and allies to North Straub Park for this one-of-a-kind Pride event. Last year’s event was a remarkable reflection of St. Pete’s diverse and open-minded community, with many of the attendees being ally families. Guests will enjoy family-focused activities, vendors, and main stage performances.

When: June 10, 10 am – 2 pm

Get Nude: Drippin’ in Melanin

What: St. Pete Pride and the Tampa Bay Black Lesbians Group are collaborating for a night to dance the evening away to DJ Donnie Luv while meeting, mingling and celebrating the beautiful Black & Brown ladies of the St. Petersburg & Tampa Bay LGBTQ+ community. Dress to impress, the attire for the evening is Nudes & Earthtones to celebrate every shade of our Queer rainbow.

When: June 10, 9 pm

Shades of Pride Festival: A LGBTQ+ Juneteenth Celebration

What: With host Ts Madison, Shades of Pride will celebrate the history of Juneteenth while showcasing the Art and Qulture of our Black and Brown LGBTQ+ siblings. Join in to learn more about the deep impact of Black and Brown qulture on the LGBTQ+ community as a whole and its deep roots in the evolution of Pride. This event is 18+.

When: June 17, 6 pm – 2 am

Stonewall Reception

What: The iconic Stonewall Reception will allow us to honor those brave individuals who have fought for the recognition of civil rights and given hope to so many. Share light bites, drinks, and entertainment with powerful luminaries including St Pete Pride sponsors, community partners, and government officials as we celebrate our progress in the beautiful James Museum and give credit to those who have made LGBTQ+ Pride possible.

Bayboro Brewing Pride Party

What: Bayboro Brewing is hosting its 3rd annual Pride celebration, featuring an incredible drag show followed by Cannonball Cabaret.

Friday Night Concert with Idina Menzel

What: Presented by the Aids Health Foundation and featuring Tony Award Winner, Idina Menzel, get excited to see some of your local favorites, Brianna Summers, Ashlee T. Bangkx, Miss St Pete Pride Ceazia Giovanni Kreshé , Mr St Pete Pride Mr. Vyn Suazion, Mx St Pete Pride KaMarion Lavish, Girls Rock Camp St. Pete band Anarkitty, Queen Sheba Bethsheba A. Rem, and hosted by Angelique Young-Cavalier.

St Pete Pride Parade, TransMarch, and Festival presented by Visit St Pete Clearwater

What: One of the country’s largest pride parades will bring tens of thousands of marchers and attendees to the St. Pete waterfront to celebrate our community. The largest of St Pete Pride’s signature events, the parade brings together members of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies to enjoy the parade and a large-scale event. National musical artists will anchor a dynamic mainstage lineup that also features Florida’s most-beloved LGBTQ+ talent.

‘Pride in Grand Central’ Street Fair presented by CAN Community Health

What: St Pete Pride’s popular Sunday street festival will be reimagined as a carnival, bringing tens of thousands of people of all ages to the Grand Central District to enjoy block after block of entertainment, vendors, food, community partners, and interactive carnival games. With multiple performance stages, roaming street performers, and hundreds of participating businesses and organizations, there will be something for everyone.

When: June 25, 12 – 5 pm

Transtastic

What: Join St. Pete Pride and celebrate Tampa Bay’s Trans and Non-Binary community. This is a welcoming evening at the Museum of Fine Arts showcasing a variety of talent, artistry, poetry and more from the community. Guests will meander through both indoor and outdoor spaces enjoying appetizers and a cash bar.

When: June 28, 6-9 pm

Where: Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg

Queer-E-Okee

What: The newest addition to the St Pete Pride event lineup will bring hundreds to The Palladium Theater for a hilarious and love-filled evening of music and camaraderie. Celebrity host Carson Kressley will introduce a roster of local queer musicians who will perform some of the LGBTQIA+ community’s most-beloved songs while the audience sings along with the help of karaoke-style lyrics projected onto a large screen. This will be an unforgettable evening!
