We love delivery from the always dependable Hong Kong Buffet in downtown St. Pete. Yet, we’ve been searching for that authentic walk through the door Chinatown feeling for quite some time. Thanks to the recommendation of a friend, we found it at ABC Chinese Seafood Restaurant.
Located on 54th St. N, we have to give props to ABC for their terrific service. We arrived 10 minutes before they opened but were welcomed by the family that was just finishing up their own meals.
As for the food, we started with a Crabmeat Cheese Roll, which proved the age old thought that you can fry anything, and it will be delicious. Yes, it was.

For the main courses, we tried the roasted duck and a Chinese chicken casserole. All we can say about the duck is it was the real deal. A terrific portion and fall-off-the-bone tender, the sumptuous duck had a mildly sweet barbeque flavoring.
Neither of us have ever had a Chinese casserole before so that was a bit of a treat. A mix of meats, including Chinese sausage/chorizo, mushrooms, mixed vegetables and what was probably the most perfectly cooked chicken from a Chinese restaurant we have ever tasted — tender and not dry.
It may be a bit of a trip for most of us, but we fully recommend ABC Chinese Seafood if you’re looking for some of the best in the ‘Burg at reasonable prices. It’s a sentiment that is reflected in the 21 reviews on their Google Places page.
