In a city fueled by artistry, one group is intentionally creating a safe space for underrepresented creatives to thrive. Culture Creative was born from the simple belief that every community is at its best when its creatives are seen and celebrated. From their space at 2108 34th St S, the fast-growing local group is helping make sure that happens.

In St. Petersburg, artists have always been at the center of the culture: musicians, writers, designers, tattoo artists, and creatives of every kind shaping the city’s identity in real time. But for years, there was a gap. What started as a small gathering space to fill that gap has grown into a creative ecosystem where connections happen naturally, and people feel free to show up exactly as they are.

From plant bingo to poetry nights: what happens inside

From creative mixers and book clubs to drawing sessions, workshops, open mics, and film nights, Culture Creative’s programming is intentionally varied and designed to meet creatives wherever they are and give them space to explore. Each event is built around community and access.

Some evenings with Culture Creative feel light and social, like events such as plant bingo. Other nights move into something quieter and more reflective.

At Speak Easy Poetry Club, the focus is on storytelling and presence. It’s a space for voices to be heard and stories to be told.

R&B nights and open mic sessions bring together singers, poets, and performers for evenings centered on expression where both emerging and established creatives can take the floor.

And beyond scheduled events, the space also functions as a co-op-style workspace, where creatives can collaborate.

The “brain” behind the movement

At the center of it all is founder Christopher “BRAIN” Roberts, a multimedia artist, producer, and creative community builder with more than two decades of experience. BRAIN’s work is rooted in the idea that creative people shape cities.

Culture Creative is powered by a collective of artists, organizers, and community builders working across disciplines.

That includes:

  • Breanna “Azura” Morgan, Art Director
  • Danie Anderson, Creative Director
  • Ashley Reed, Creative Director
