It’s a fintastic weekend for shark (and art) lovers. Sharkapalooza, an art-powered ocean festival, is taking over Coachman Park in Clearwater for a full day or fishy fun this Saturday, May 16, from 10 am – 4 pm.
The celebration of the planet’s most ancient living predator features local artists showcasing shark- and ocean-inspired work, live music, educational speakers, local food trucks, and raffles to benefit shark nonprofits and conservation initiatives. The festival is free to attend, though interested guests can RSVP in advance here.

The festival is in support of ocean conservation far beyond just the protection and welfare and sharks, and it is one of Tampa Bay’s biggest ocean-friendly events. In addition to the massive showcase of ocean-inspired art and live music, there will be hands-on activities for all ages, encouraging learning through art and play. For adults, beer and wine will also be available.
The art show is the big draw at Sharkapalooza, and it is a showcase of local artists as well as locally-inspired pieces. You’ll find plenty of sharks on canvas, to be sure, but the wide variety of mediums and styles range from crustaceans and groupers to sea birds, turtles, Gulf-front vistas and more. If you’re in the market for some bright or beachy pieces, this is your stop for the weekend.
