We already knew our little slice of paradise was one of the best places in the country to live. Now, as the local economy continues to grow, we can be proud to say it’s also one of the best places to work.

The Top 100 Workplaces USA list for 2023 has been released, and not only did two area companies crack the list among large employers, they both earned top 20 billing. Tampa’s Baldwin Risk Partners checked in at No. 11 overall, while St. Pete-based Power Design, Inc took the No. 20 spot in the annual rankings.

The recognition for these two locally grown large companies (measured as companies with 2,500+ employees) is a hat tip to area leaders, as well as yet another bragging point for the burgeoning region. In fact, just last fall, the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. saw an impressive 91 Tampa Bay area businesses make the cut, with seven of them based right here in St. Pete.

It is certainly nice to see the Burg’s biggest private employer make the list of best workplaces, meaning thousands of locals are not only employed, but happily so. Meanwhile, few topics are of more dynamic interest in the state lately than insurance, putting Tampa’s Baldwin Risk Partners at the center of something incredibly important.

As explained by Top Workplaces USA, the award celebrates nationally recognized companies that make the world a better place to work together by prioritizing a people-centered culture and giving employees a voice. The Top Workplaces USA award is based entirely on feedback from an employee engagement survey completed by the employees of participating workplaces.
