Wawa’s first-ever drive-thru is making its debut in Largo, marking a significant first for Florida. The beloved convenience store and gas station chain, is opening today at 2530 East Bay Drive.

A new era of convenience

The Wawa drive-thru concept officially received approval in late July, with construction slated to begin shortly. Unlike traditional Wawa locations, this stand-alone drive-thru will not include a gas station. Wawa initially experimented with this model in 2020 and has since seen tremendous success, prompting the expansion of drive-thru locations nationwide.

Everything from Wawa’s renowned fresh food menu will be available at this location. Customers can enjoy breakfast items, hoagies and sandwiches, soups, salads, wraps, bowls, sides, and pre-packaged snacks. Orders can be conveniently placed for curbside pickup or via the drive-thru, ensuring quick and easy access to their favorite Wawa offerings.

First 100 get the anniversary tee!

The new Wawa drive-thru in Largo will celebrate its grand opening with a series of festivities. The event kicks off at 8:30 a.m. with the first 100 customers receiving exclusive “In My Wawa Era 60th Anniversary” t-shirts. An outdoor ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 8:45 a.m., featuring a grand entrance by the new store team, the signature Hoagies for Heroes competition between the Largo Police and Fire Departments, and an official ribbon cutting with Wawa’s mascot, Wally Goose.

Key attendees include Nancy Dulaney, Wawa Director of Store Operations; Richard Morton, Wawa Area Manager; Jason Ellis, Wawa General Manager; and representatives from the Largo Police and Fire Departments. The drive-thru will officially open to the public at 9:00 a.m.
