A New Vue

After having been quite the buzz for a while now, the much anticipated 19th floor club is soon to make its bow to the public with a soft opening this weekend. We got a sneak peek as the finishing touches were being made in preparation.

Located on the 19th Floor of the former Bank of America tower, Vue19 has a 360º view of the ‘Burg, from the city skyline to the sweep of Tampa Bay. Balconies around the 9500 square foot club allow access to the stars, and what is said to be highest public outdoor view of St. Pete.

Vue19 is the upstairs sister of the ground floor Vue Sushi and Martini Bar, both located at One Progress Plaza. Owners say a lot of effort went into the club to fill a gap that’s missing on this side of the Bay, citing venues such as the Blue Martini, which serves a largely 40-something crowd, but still attracts the likes of 30 and 20-somethings.

After a grand opening scheduled in the next few weeks, we can expect entertainment to be diverse. For example, a 4-5 piece band from 8-11pm before DJs take the stage with an open format including everything from new to old school.

Private events played big in design decisions, including a limited pallet of white and blue to accommodate weddings and anniversary parties, among others.

A sophisticated lighting setup allows full control of the ambiance, with programmable control of color and pattern.

Vue19 will stage a soft opening this weekend, starting tonight (Thursday) at 10pm. Enter through the lobby at 200 Progress, in The Tower at One Progress Plaza.
