Join Moderator Rob Lorei, News Director of WMNF 88.5 community radio, for an informal discussion series for adults created by Secrets of the Sea Marine Exploration Center and Aquarium (formerly The Pier Aquarium) in 2009. Wordier Than Thou @ The Studio@620
Join for an open mic focusing on storytelling and fiction – no poetry or music. Share your finest prose, or if you're just in the mood for listening, catch some tales from area wordsmiths. A featured reader will kick off the night, followed by open mic slots. Open mic readers get 10 minutes and will be timed. St. Pete Police Memorial Service @ Demens Landing Park
The service will commemorate police officers, past and present, who by their faithful and loyal devotion have rendered a dedicated service to their community. The engraved ceremonial bell, which is kept at the police station during the year, will be brought to the site and rung once for each fallen officer as their name is read. The solid brass 24-pound bell is engraved with “St. Petersburg Police – Fortis Heroes,” and its clear tone will ring out in remembrance in the beautiful waterfront park. 7:45pm. Civilization has come to an end. The grid has failed and a few survivors are left to rebuild. We find them shortly after the cataclysm attempting to remember the details of an episode of The Simpsons. Aglianico Wine Tasting @ Sea Salt St. Pete
Aglianico is an ancient grape cultivated in southern Italy since the 7th Century B.C. It was the world's "first growth" wine during Roman times. Coming of Age Adult Coloring Night @ Museum of Fine Arts
Artist (or adult) coloring books are having a moment. Join us as we combine relaxation with the pleasure of connecting with others. Choose from 3 designs, or bring your own. The next Porch Party sponsored by Coastal Properties Group and Christie's International is Thursday, May 19.
