Urban Brew & BBQ To Open New Brewpub

Andy Salyards, owner of Urban Brew & BBQ, may be the hardest working man in the Burg. Between pint nights, beer dinners, catering events all over the city and consistently innovating the menu at Urban Brew, he is St. Pete's proverbial elastic man.

We visited with him today to discuss the secret menu items you didn't know you could get at the restaurant. However, we walked away with something even juicier.

Andy tells us that come spring, Urban Brew & BBQ will expand. Salyards will open a brewpub called Urban Comfort. Located at 2601 Central Ave., Urban Comfort will transform an old autoshop into a craft and culinary haven.

"We're going to replace the garage doors on the left with glass. We're going to redo the awning and expand it." Salyards says. "Out front, there's going to be an adult sandbox for horseshoes, corn hole and volleyball." The left side of the lot, mostly gravel at the moment, will be in full bloom with a brewing station.

Salyards tells us the menu, while boasting the same honey-hickory flavors you've come to adore at Urban, will diverge from the BBQ norm. "We even plan on serving salads," he jests.

Urban Comfort plans on serving liquor along with their home-brewed drinks. The spot will feature indoor and outdoor seating with an overall capacity of around 150 people.

While we wait for Urban Comfort to open we offer you a glimpse at the lesser known and unlisted menu items you can order at Urban Brew & BBQ.
