The West St. Pete CommUNITY Festival returns to Azalea Park (1600 72nd St. N.) and it’s sure to bring the neighborhood together. The event will take place on Saturday, September 28, from 2pm–9pm. Make sure to RSVP on Facebook for updates leading up to the event.

The first event was a roaring success, and you can see a full album of photos by Matthew Lee here. Organizer Aron Bryce wrote the following after last year’s celebration:

“I am still buzzing from yesterday. The turnout was everything I could have hoped for and more. Organizationally everything ran smoothly. Vendors were happy. Food trucks did well. SPPD gave out 100+ helmets and had fantastic engagement. The firetruck and Sunrunner were busy the whole event. The balloon artist and face painter had lines the whole time. There were kids running and playing.

Families, friends, and neighbors joining each other for a meal. All of the tables I rented were full. People created their own circles of picnic blankets and chairs in the shade. Every single part of the picnic worked like clockwork. For a first time event I think it couldn’t have gone better if I asked.”

Bringing the entire St. Pete Community together

The event is a veritable confluence of St. Pete’s unique and various neighborhoods, and everyone’s invited. According to the event organizer, Aron Bryce, “This event is meant to do one thing— bring us together. This festival is open to the public, free to attend, and meant for all of St. Pete! It will be a family-friendly, leashed dog-friendly event that you won’t want to miss!”

Local food sensations Shiso Crispy, The Crumb Factory, Duke of Ribs, V9 Eats, and Uncle Louie G’s will all be present this year. TLDR: arrive hungry.

The event boasts family-friendly activities

This year’s community festival promises a vibrant array of activities and attractions. Attendees can enjoy live music performances, including a Greg Roy Bob Marley Tribute and original music by Ajeva, along with a spectacular Pink Floyd-inspired laser light show. The event will also feature fire spinners, craft vendors, and a selection of beer and wine. Additionally, the festival will showcase the PSTA SunRunner, police marine vessel, armored vehicle, motorcycle and K9 demonstrations, and a bike rodeo. In a thrilling highlight, the Sheriff’s Office will be landing a helicopter at Azalea Park.

We love events like these because they touch on St. Pete’s charitability. Local organizations such as Hank’s Bark Box and Love Thy Neighbor Florida will be accepting donations for their causes, each of which makes a demonstrative and qualifiable impact on our community.

The event will take place at Azalea Park, a hot spot for residents, boasting some of St. Pete’s best public amenities: a recreation center, a playground, an outdoor exercise zone, a disc golf course, athletic fields, and courts, a picnic shelter, and plenty of green space to enjoy outdoor activities with friends and family.
