Opa! A new restaurant is now open in a prime location in St. Pete Beach, replacing a recently shuttered favorite. Taverna On The Bay celebrates its grand opening today at 5501 Gulf Boulevard, occupying the building most recently home to Caddy’s St. Pete Beach.
The new beach restaurant showcases an excellent selection of Mediterranean eats, promising “A taste you’ll never forget OPAAA!” Taverna On The Bay is in the same complex as the Beach Zone store and Sunshine City Comedy Club, located across Gulf Boulevard from Tradewinds Islands Resorts.

After announcing the upcoming opening earlier this summer, diners were left in a bit of suspense as to what exactly to expect. Now, we’ve gotten a look at the menu, and it appears Taverna On The Bay was worth the wait.
The menu features a wide selection of Greek-inspired specialty seafood dishes, grilled steaks and chops, pasta plates, and a deep selection of chicken and veal entrees. And don’t skip dessert, with options such as Galaktoboureko and Palacinke, as well as cheesecake and creme brûlée.
Highlights from the entree list include garlic parmesan flounder, Greek-seasoned baby lamb chops, seafood pescatore, Greek stuffed chicken, and veal marsala. The bar also features a full cocktail menu along with beer and wine.
