The City of St. Petersburg, Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA), and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) are working on a new initiative to improve mobility in South St. Petersburg. The Connecting South St. Pete CRA Study aims to make walking, biking, and transit access safer and easier across local neighborhoods and commercial areas.

As part of the project, the city will host a series of Mobility Workshops to gather feedback from residents and business owners. The goal is to hear about their experiences with travel, access to destinations, and the current state of sidewalks, bike lanes, and transit options.

Workshop Dates and Locations:

  • Workshop #1: Saturday, Jan. 25, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • Childs Park Recreation Center, 4301 13th Ave. S
  • Workshop #2: Tuesday, Jan. 28, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • St. Petersburg College, 1300 22nd St. S
  • Workshop #3: Wednesday, Jan. 29, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Campbell Park Recreation Center, 601 14th St. S

Study aims to greatly enhance mobility across the city

Each workshop will cover the same topics, including proposed transportation improvements, ongoing study progress, and community priorities. Topics of discussion will include safer streets, better crosswalks, more bike lanes, and better transit access. Participants will have the chance to voice their concerns and suggest ideas for improvement.

The study is community-driven, and updates will continue through neighborhood engagement and outreach. For more information, visit stpete.org/CRAmobility.
