“St. Pete Turning Out” is a voter drive and a fundamental reimagining of civic participation. Spanning nine days from August 8 through August 16, 2026, this first-of-its-kind initiative is anchored near the downtown St. Petersburg Supervisor of Elections office at 350 2nd Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL 33701
While its immediate aim is to boost voter turnout during the Primary Election, its broader, more ambitious goal is to prepare “would-be” voters for the crucial November General Election, ensuring that every eligible resident feels empowered and ready to participate in our democracy.

Founder Roxanne Fixsen’s extensive history of supporting voters across St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, and on a national level provided a front-row seat to the complexities and challenges of the electoral process.
“Having spent nearly two decades in the ‘legal boiler room’ of election protection, I knew we needed to expand our focus from just legal safeguards to ensuring the physical safety and confidence of our neighbors at the polls,” she said. “When I discovered St. Pete wasn’t included in the Common Cause Florida ‘voter hub’ initiative, I knew we had to step up.”
The organization successfully raised the funds to bring a hub here for all nine days of early voting, which allowed them to not only support primary turnout but also engage ‘would-be’ voters and help remove barriers to their participation.
Over the years of observing countless election cycles, the central question became how we can ensure people feel protected, physically safe, confident, and comfortable while casting their ballots.
Seeking answers, the team consulted with Common Cause Florida to see what the Florida Election Protection Coalition was planning for the cycle. While the Coalition was already testing “voter hubs” in three other cities, St. Petersburg was absent from that plan. Identifying this gap as a vital opportunity, the team asked what it would take to bring a hub to St. Pete.
Through dedicated fundraising efforts, they secured the resources to partner with Common Cause and launch a voter hub in the heart of the city for the duration of early voting.
