The Skyway Bridge is one of the most recognizable structures in the Tampa Bay region. It’s often referred to as the gateway to Tampa Bay. During special holidays, and during certain months it lights in a vibrant array of colors to the delight of boaters and commuters alike. You can also get a spectacular view of the bridge from the Skyway Fishing Pier.
Gunther Volkswagen in Fort Lauderdale surveyed 3,000 commuters nationwide, asking, “If you could select any one of America’s iconic bridges to be part of your daily commute, which one would you pick?”

Skyway Bridge finished in second, only behind Admiral Clarey Bridge in Hawaii.
