Another apartment tower is coming to the corridor connecting Grand Central and the EDGE District. The Tampa Bay Business Journal reported today that DevMar Development has submitted plans for Sky St. Pete, a 20-story building located at the corner of Burlington Ave N and 17th Street North.

With designs by architecture firm Fusco, Shaffer and Pappas, the proposed tower includes 246 apartments, and DevMar CEO Mark DeMaria also told TBBJ that an “amenity floor” will include a rooftop deck with a lounge and pool.

The location is one block east of the now-open apartment building Vantage St. Pete, which was also a DevMar project. The parcel of land proposed for Sky St. Pete is currently occupied by residential homes, which will be demolished if the site plan is approved by the city.

With the city’s growing population and increasing demand for housing, Sky St. Pete will add housing density to the neighborhood, and the plans also include a sizable parking garage. DeMaria told TBBJ the building will include studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units.

This is an ongoing story. Stay tuned to I Love the Burg for more updates.
