The historic Old Northeast’s neighborhood bar and restaurant, Old Northeast Tavern, has combined with the neighboring pizza joint, Old Northeast Pizza. While the tavern is under renovation, the pizza joint is still slinging stellar slices of pie, with more dining room than ever.
The previous interior of the pizza joint was laid out shotgun style. The new space drastically increased the footprint, utilizing the old game room of the tavern as an expansive dining area, complete with 5 flat screen TVs hoisted on the walls, welcoming guests from both the tavern and pizza place to relax and hang out.

Old Northeast Tavern will reopen with a full liquor bar
When renovations wrap, the newly minted Old Northeast Tavern will come with a full liquor license. “We’ve had a liquor license since February,” says co-owner Bob Warhem. “We just haven’t been able to use it yet.”
While the pizza shop is open to the public, along with the renovated dining area, the tavern is still a secret. “I want it to be a surprise,” says Warhem. All will be revealed this Fall, but Warhem has not settled on an exact date.
The tavern is located at 201 7th Avenue NE. It’s located in the same plaza as Black Crow Coffee, and across the street from the Old Northeast Community Garden.
