Two of the biggest social media names in the medical world are coming together in St. Pete this spring. Put on by Tombolo Books, Jen Hamilton, a labor and delivery nurse with millions of followers on social media, is hosting an author event for her new book Birth Vibes, and she will be joined by St. Pete local and fellow social media sensation Dr. Meghan Martin, AKA Dr. Beach Gem.

The event takes place on Monday, May 11, at 7 pm at Gibbs High School’s Grand Theater at the Pinellas County Center for the Arts (850 34th Street South), and tickets are available here. A note of warning: get your tickets quick, if you’re interested. Even if you are interested, it may already be too late. The initial plan was to host the event at Coastal Creative, which can fit a few hundred people, and that sold out almost immediately, leading Tombolo to move the event to a bigger location.

The popularity is no surprise, given that Hamilton and Martin have more than 4.5 million followers between them on Instagram alone. Martin being local (our favorite kind of celebrity) only enhances the appeal. The evening will feature a conversation between the two medical experts and nationwide influencers, along with discussion on Hamilton’s new book. Tickets include a copy Birth Vibes, which Hamilton will be signing on site.

Birth Vibes is described as “the ultimate companion for anyone preparing to give birth—or supporting someone who is. Warm, funny, and deeply grounded in real-life experience, this is the guide every parent deserves: allowing them to adapt to whatever birth brings with confidence and calm.”

She’s a doctor, wife, and mom—committed to helping families feel informed, empowered, and seen.

While the event isn’t being hosted at Tombolo Books proper, we do consider this yet another excuse to stop by and visit the Grand Central District favorite. Many a wonderful afternoon have been spent picking up a new read at Tombolo, grabbing a drink at Black Crow, and sitting in the courtyard to enjoy both.
