The Grand Central District is a hub for food, art and fun. ARTpool Gallery, Urban Brew and BBQ, Love Food Central and Calusa Press have added a new energy to the area, while spots like Haslam's maintain the district's character as a place for inquiring minds and creatives. Soon, the GCD will welcome two fresh faces to their eclectic small business roster.

Handcrafted Healing offers Swedish massage, deep tissue, sports massage, accupressure, myofascial release and stretching techniques catered to customer's needs. The spot currently offers an introductory 60 minute massage with aromatherapy for $55. They soft opened at the end of August and will host their grand opening Thursday, October 20.

Black Crow, the popular coffee shop located in the heart of the historic Old Northeast neighborhood is expanding. The owners plan to open in the Calusa Commons at 2157 1st Avenue South. Beyond just a coffee shop, the new space will serve as a roastery, recording studio and event gallery. Visitors will also be able to enjoy a selection of local beers and wine. 

Owners Greg Bauman and Deanna Hawk have cultivated a space for the visual and performing arts with their café in the Old NE. They frequently host poetry, short fiction and musician open mic nights, as well as a rotating list of featured artists whose work adorns the walls of Black Crow. Customers are often treated to classic works from the silent film era projected on a screen behind the register. They also own Indian Shores Coffee Company.
