It seems like artificial intelligence has been all over the news lately, but this time it’s not for auto-generated art or “smart” dialogue – it’s for the coffee table in your living room. Today, Haddy celebrated their grand opening in St. Pete as the A.I.-powered and 3D-printed furniture manufacturer seeks to change the future of its industry.
Most of us are familiar with the idea of 3D printing – even if the nuts and bolts of how it works are a bit over our heads – and Haddy is scaling the concept significantly while “printing” thousands of pieces of furniture at its new headquarters in the Warehouse Arts District of St. Petersburg. At their grand opening ceremony today, two A.I.-powered robots named Tom and Jerry could be seen printing pieces of furniture, while guests watched on with coffee and donuts in hand.

However, simply producing the furniture isn’t all Haddy is focused on. They are also the world’s first company to digitally manufacture furniture at scale, while also achieving full recyclability. That sustainability is a key part of Haddy’s ethos, and one of several reasons that founders settled on St. Pete as the perfect fit for their new headquarters. The company strives to create furniture that meets three criteria: beautiful, durable, and regenerative.
During the festivities, founders showcased the recycled materials used to print the very tables and chairs spread throughout the building – all created by robotic machines just a few feet away. It’s all part of their plan to open micro facilities across the world that can print furniture sustainably and affordably no matter the location.
“We are building on the blocks of robotic process automation to advance machine learning,” Haddy’s website explains, “creating more resilient, efficient and repeatable MicroFactories that can be strategically located in high volume distribution areas across the globe … Effectively shifting the dynamics away from supply chain disruptions and reintroducing local employment.”
Haddy’s new headquarters is located at 1921 5th Avenue South, bringing mass production and new jobs to the Warehouse Arts District, in an area of the city that will see booming growth over the next few years. The company already has plans to hire more members of its team, with global ambitions that could see it become an industry leader worldwide. Get info on Haddy’s vision at haddy.life.
More from Haddy: “Haddy was founded on the principle that technology has the capacity to improve the longevity and quality of life on the planet. We consider this to be the intersection where design and nature both flourish and evolve, in balance with one another. Dedicated to achieving full circularity through its lineage model for additive manufacturing and using renewable and recycleable materials for all of our products, Haddy has built circularity into its foundation by upcycling products at end of use for the next generation of goods.
“Our goal is to center people and the planet in all that we do. We envision a future for the furniture manufacturing industry that is kind to the planet, respectful to design, and honors the people who work to bring objects to life as well as those who live their lives upon them.”
