Green Bench is one of the best breweries in the country according to beer pros

Outdoor beer garden with spaced out tables

Green Bench Brewing, located in St. Petersburg’s EDGE District at 1133 Baum Ave, has earned a spot on VinePair’s list of the best breweries in America. The honor comes after a panel of 30 beer experts—writers, historians and community leaders—ranked the brewery among the country’s top brewing destinations.

Kate Bernot, lead analyst at Sightlines, praised Green Bench for its all-around excellence. “Green Bench quietly fires on all cylinders,” she said. “Lagers are on point—Florida’s heat demands it. Ciders are well-crafted, and the mixed-culture beer program at Webb’s City Cellar next door is impressive.” Bernot also highlighted the brewery’s strong community focus, commending the hospitality of co-owner and head brewer Khris Johnson and the team. “Spending a day on the taproom’s sunny patio feels effortless,” she added.

A beloved community events space

Green Bench Brewing, known for its diverse beer offerings, has become a staple in the local craft beer scene. Its nearby sister location, Webb’s City Cellar, continues to impress with unique, experimental brews.

Green Bench and Webbs City Cellar will host Classical Revolution, a classical music event, on Jan. 13 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. It’s just one of many ways the brewery continues to connect with its community.

Of course, St. Pete is overflowing with great beer. We encourage everyone to support the local breweries on the “Gulp Coast.” Visit St. Pete-Clearwater has a great guide to breweries across the county to inspire your next tasting experience.
