St. Pete’s annual day at the museum is back. The St. Petersburg Arts Alliance (SPAA) announced the return of Free Museum Day for 2026, taking place on Saturday, September 19, at a full dozen venues around the city.
As part of the citywide celebration of art, history, and culture, Pinellas County residents (with valid ID) can enjoy free admission to some of St. Pete’s most beloved museums and cultural institutions. From world-renowned collections to local hidden gems, Free Museum Day highlights St. Pete’s rich creative spirit and brings the community together.

Parking will be available in downtown garages, but attendees are encouraged to use public transportation for a smoother experience. The SunRunner, St. Petersburg Trolley Downtown Looper, and Central Avenue Trolley all offer convenient ways to get around.

Free Museum Day is a collaborative effort between the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance, the City of St. Petersburg, and participating cultural partners. Inspired by the national Smithsonian Free Museum Day, the event reflects a shared mission to make art and culture accessible to everyone.
The St. Petersburg Arts Alliance is the umbrella organization serving St. Petersburg’s vibrant arts community by driving arts-related economic development, advocating for artists and arts organizations, providing funding opportunities, fostering arts education, and championing St. Petersburg as Florida’s City of the Arts.
