The filmmaking and video production scene is booming in Tampa Bay, and with that uptick in promotions comes opportunity for local professional and aspiring actors. In the latest such boon, acclaimed director Paco Raterta is coming to St. Pete soon, and he is looking for actors and actresses to be a part of his latest special production.
Raterta, a native of the Phillipines, is perhaps best known for his work on the The Choe Show, which became an immediate sensation after its first season debuted last year on FX. He is also revered for his work directing music videos. Raterta and his team will be shooting B-roll and re-enactment shots throughout St. Pete and the Tampa Bay area for upcoming episodes of a series, and producers are looking for actors of all adult ages.

Interested parties are asked to send video auditions to Ryan Zarra at ryan.zarra@gmail.com, and videos should showcase any emotional and honest acting. Producers for the non-traditional shoot promise a low-key experience. It is a paid non-union opportunity, all food expenses will be covered, and actors will be able to add the scenes to their reels.
The Choe Show interviews celebrity guests and forges deep connections
Raterta was considered something of a prodigy, and was already an international award winner before taking the helm with The Choe Show. Season one of The Choe Show debuted in 2021 to immediate critical acclaim on Hulu and FX as it followed the guidance of celebrated Los Angeles artist David Choe.
According to its description online, “in ‘The Choe Show,’ world-renowned artist David Choe turns his eccentric, compassionate and disruptive worldview into a lens for an audience to experience a radical empathy for others. From the walls of his childhood home, Choe takes his guests on a journey where he is a motivational interviewer and compassionate listener. He uses the acts of art and play as Choe and his guests depart on a journey of shared emotional experience. It is through their bonded and authentic connection that Choe is able to bring forth an of-the-moment honesty.”
