Jimbo’s Joint is Jumpin’

With dishes like My Big Fat Greek Sausage (featuring tzatsiki, feta, cukes and tomatoes) and Children of the Corn Dog, you suspect that the soon-to-open Jimbo’s Joint knows how to have a good time. And with a Grand Opening Party this Sunday, November 10, from 1-6pm, that will include go-go dancers, roller derby girls, free samples of everything in the joint, and even face painting for the kids, you know you’ll have a good time, too.

The joint’s featured "Jimbo’s Famous Chicken Sausages," a creation of chef and partner Gary Joaquim, are all made in-house. He and partner Jim LoBianco have been working on getting the joint rolling since May.

You can order one of the chef’s concoctions, like the Abe Froman (any Ferris Bueller fans out there?) or "Make your Own, Man" with toppings that include everything from the obvious mustard to kimchi, and spicy salted caramel sauce. Nothing’s over $7.

Kyle Kinane in the Burg… for the Sushi?

Rollbotto Sushi had a celebrity visitor yesterday. Comedy Central star Kyle Kinane dined on some custom rolls and quafed a beer at our favorite auto-bot sushi joint.

Apparently, Kinane and Rollbotto part-owner Max Silavutiset have been pals for a while. The Rollbotto Facebook feed offered the following tidbit:

"We are childhood friends and happen to be in Tampa for a concert but, he literally came over the bridge just for Rollbotto."
