Branzini, a beautiful Mediterranean gem on St. Pete Beach

Branzini, a beautiful Mediterranean gem on St. Pete Beach

Owners of the German Knodle, an authentic German eatery, on Central Ave., Natasha Pavlovic and Tazo Musebejovic, opened a second restaurant: Branzini (6800 Gulf Blvd.), a classic Mediterranean restaurant. Branzini opened on St. Pete Beach in December 2023. It’s now open 7 days a week from 4pm-10pm.

Boasting a spacious 2,400 square feet, Branzini can comfortable seat 160 guests inside, with additional patio seating that can facilitate 50 more guests. A huge, two-sided, 30 feet long bar provides full-liquor, wine, and cocktail service.

Branzini specializes in, you guessed it, Branzini. If you are unfamiliar, it’s a Mediterranean sea bass noted for its mild, sweet, and slightly briny flavor, but holding a clean, fresh taste. The mild flavor allows it to fully absorb other ingredients, making it easy to manipulate the flavor profile.

Pair fish with a fresh salad

When it comes to cooking Mediterranean style, simple and classic is best. The owners tell me they primarily grill and cook with olive oil, garlic, and parsley. Simple, clean, and elegant.

Pro tip: The signature dish pairs well with the fresh herbal taste of a salad,  so you may want one with your meal rather than before.

The restaurant also serves up a variety of pastas, risottos, salads, soups, and burgers. Follow the restaurant on Instagram for more tasty teasers.
