We’re always on the lookout for good food trucks, and the newest one in St. Pete seems destined to become a star. Bellies Street Food officially debuted this summer, dishing up gigantic sandwiches, smash burgers, loaded fries and more, promising “handheld munchies on the move.”
The passion project of two sisters in town, Bellies Street Food is exactly what it sounds like – the perfect way to fill up your belly. While the menu may not be exactly what some would deem heart-healthy, their cheesy, carb-filled creations are clearly worth the cheat day indulgence.

Bellies’ specialty sandwich is the Philly cheesesteak – an authentic Amoroso roll piled high with hand-sliced ribeye, grilled onions, and a choice of melted provolone or Bellies cheese sauce. The food truck is also quite proud of its smash burgers, which come in four versions, including veggie and the highly temping “Blackberry Brie Smash.” They also dish up loaded shoestring fries (sign us up for the Philly fries) and a chopped cheese sandwich, as well as rotating specials.
We first got wind of Bellies when they made an appearance at Grand Central District favorite Lost & Found, and tracking their schedule is now a weekly activity. Just this week (9/12-9/16), they’ve already been to Marina Walk Apartments and Lost & Found, and have four more stops lined up as of publication time: Par Bar on Thursday at 6 pm, The Bends on Friday from 9 pm – late, Tamarind Bay Apartments on Saturday from 12-3 pm, and If I Brewed The World on Saturday at 7 pm.
We always love our food trucks here in St. Pete, as we follow them from place to place and watch them grow. The mobile concepts are fantastic springboards for small business, like The Violet Stone who has now opened a full brick and mortar, Shiso Crispy who now has an empire of incredible Asian food trucks, or newcomer Johnny Nevada’s Tamales who big moves on the horizon.
