The Burg’s most gastronomically-pleasing event is back as the St. Pete Bacon and BBQ Festival is returning this weekend. The extravaganza in Vinoy Park takes place on Saturday and Sunday, January 13 and 14, bringing dozens of the Tampa Bay area’s best chefs, breweries, and distilleries to downtown.
The 7th-annual festival is a sprawling celebration of great local food, live local music, and cold local beer. There will be more than 100 bacon and BBQ dishes available for purchase, from rich and smoky brisket to thick crispy bacon cheeseburgers and fall-off-the-bone ribs. In addition to local beer and cocktails, each day will feature five different bands on the main stage, plus games, prizes and more fun.
There are three different levels of VIP tickets this year, including a booze cruise option, and a VIP area with Tide Amplified Teas. The standard Boss Hog VIP tickets include exclusive access to the Boss Hog area with extra bars and vendors, a private lounge with dining tent and tables, a private front row area with high-top tables, cocktail and spirit samples from local distilleries, and an executive A/C bathroom trailer.
General admission tickets are $17 in advance ($20 at the door), which grant access to the Bacon and BBQ Festival. Kids 12 and under get into the festival for free, and dogs are allowed, but must be on a leash.
More than two dozen Tampa Bay area food trucks, pit masters, and restaurants will be on hand for the event, along with a few non-BBQ and bacon items, for those who need a brief break from the meat. There will also be wood-fired pizza, craft ice cream, and local donuts.
Saturday’s festivities take place from 12-10 pm, with performances by Tropidelic, The HeadTones, The New Rulers, Eric Swanson Band, Tuff Son, and Taylor Jansen Trio. Events on Sunday run from 1-9 pm, featuring music by Seranation, Sierra Lane, Sober Down, The Sub Herbs, and Neverless. Find more festival information at stpetebaconandbbq.com.
