Puffy jacket and earmuff weather is here, and a pair of local favorites are going all out for the occasion. The Avenue and Park & Rec are hosting the Apres Ski Lodge Block Party, a themed celebration taking over their entire block on 1st Avenue South.

Festivities begin with a First Friday kickoff party this Friday, February 2, beginning at 8 pm, and party-goers are encouraged to dress the part. There will be giveaways and prizes for best dressed, including a Dick’s Sporting Goods gift card and an actual shot ski to take home (and use at the bar, if you’re feeling feisty.)

The massive themed block party will include real fire pits, a snow machine, spiked cocoa, shot skis, and plenty more, including some of the region’s best DJs spinning music until the wee hours. Drink specials for the kickoff party include Cinnamon Toast Crunch shots, Cold Toddies, Angry Balls, and Aperol Spritz.

The Apres Ski Lodge Block Party will actually be a full month-long installation, running through the entire month of February at The Avenue and Park & Rec. While enjoying the fires and cocoa, we certainly recommend wings or burgers at The Avenue, as well as downtown’s biggest collection of yard and arcade games at Park & Rec. Hopefully the cool temps will keep things from getting too heated while playing lifesize beer pong.

Follow The Avenue and Park & Rec on Instagram for more sneak peeks at the fun. The Apres Ski Lodge Block Party will be hosted at 330 1st Avenue South.
