PetWorks is a sponsor and trusted partner of I Love the Burg

St. Petersburg is an extraordinarily pet-friendly city. This much is evident along any of the pedestrian paths and trails in the Sunshine City. While dog parks may be closed, and we all continue to practice social distancing, you can still see pups out for walks throughout the ‘Burg’s historic neighborhoods. Now, a new locally-owned grocery store for pets has opened downtown to assist pet owners in this time of need.

PetWorks, a holistic market, made its debut in downtown St. Petersburg at 1 Beach Drive Southeast Unit 106 in December 2019. Since its opening, PetWorks has offered delivery to St. Pete residents. Currently, the downtown shop is offering free, same day, no-contact delivery. The shop itself features a highly curated, heavily-vetted selection of dog and cat food, treats, toys, and accessories.

A passion project from two St. Pete locals

Kelli and Robert, the founders of PetWorks, have dedicated their lives to the health and happiness of animals.

Their journey started when their seven-year-old Pomeranian, Nellie, suddenly died of kidney failure, and no one could explain to the couple how/why it happened. Kelli and Robert did their own research and learned that everything from her medications and grooming products, to her food and toys, contained toxins and other dangerous ingredients.

That’s when they became passionate about healthy and alternative pet supplies.

In addition to free, same-day delivery in St. Pete, PetWorks also offers curbside pickup.

Discounts for healthcare workers and first responders and accepting donations for the Pet Food Bank

PetWorks is offering a 20% discount for Healthcare Providers and First Responders at the store.

They are also in the process of collecting donations for the Suncoast Organized Animal Relief. If you shop online, PetWorks will donate 10% of the purchase value to the organization if you enter “SOAR” in the comments upon checkout.

The shelves of the market are lined with delicious food options for dogs and cats you’ve probably never seen before. If you’re in need of a recommendation, look no further than shop dog Mollie.
