Major openings are happening in West St. Pete. Earlier in the year, it was reported that Doc Ford’s would take over the old Green Iguana location. Portillo’s opened to an eager audience in the plaza shared with Five Below. The Blend is rumored to take over the old Checkers spot near Tyrone Square Mall. Plans have been filed for a Ulta Beauty Store in the former Pier One at 2030 Tyrone Boulevard North.
This Ulta Beauty location would span nearly 11,000-square-feet. Visitors could expect the same diverse array of cosmetic and beauty supplies, in addition to Ulta’s signature salon.

Ulta continues major boost to West St. Pete
Ulta Beauty, which was formerly known as Ulta Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance, is a chain of beauty stores founded by Richard E. George, the former president of Osco Drug, in Bolingbrook, Illinois in 1990.
Ulta Beauty offers both high-end and drugstore cosmetics, skincare, and fragrances, in addition to its own brands of beauty products and fragrances. They sell brands such as MAC Cosmetics,.Kylie Cosmetics, and ColourPop cosmetics.
Company owners are planning a rapid annual expansion across the U.S., and the Tampa Bay region is heavily on their radar. As of Thursday, April 28, Ulta’s stock rallied 3.63% to $417.42 after underperforming.

“Our outlook for fiscal 2022 reflects our expectations for Beauty growth as well as the challenge of lapping exceptional performance in fiscal 2021, ongoing wage and supply chain cost pressures, and investments in new capabilities to support future growth,” wrote Dave Kimbell, chief executive officer of Ulta in its FY2021 4th quarter results. “Despite the expected challenges, I am more excited than ever about the opportunity for Ulta Beauty to grow and continue to lead the Beauty category. We are emerging from the pandemic as a stronger, healthier business, we operate in an attractive and growing category, and we have an exceptional team in place to execute our ambitious plans and deliver for our guests, associates and shareholders.”
