Squeeze Juice Works has opened a brand new vegan cafe called “The Works” in Historic Uptown, in the space formerly occupied by Pete’s General at 495 7th Avenue North. The grand opening is Sunday, January 16th from 9 am – 4 pm and the head chef is rolling out their debut early winter menu.
The Works will have a permanent main menu, along with a cold case offering grab-and-go meals. The seasonal menu will rotate regularly and take inspiration from what is in natural abundance locally with a focus on foods that also function as preventative medicine to support overall body health. On Instagram, they have also teased “toasties,” sliced toast with a bevy of fun toppings.

The cafe describes itself as “a playground of vegan, medicinal plant-based foods that cross cultures, heal the body and fortify the soul.”
There are five featured bowls on the early winter menu, including kimchi fried rice, a winter beet salad and an organic farro bowl. The Lindito sounds particularly appetizing, full of quinoa salad, zucchini spears, smokey bean salad, brassicas blend, house-made citrus pickled onion, roasted poblano avocado dressing and radish slices.
The chana masala is tempting, as well, with its spiced rice, chickpea curry, mango chutney and cucumber-mint yogurt.
You can follow the concept on Instagram right now to keep up with the latest news and more offerings.
The Works is Uptown’s new tasty Vegan Cafe
Squeeze Juice Works is one of the most beloved businesses in the ‘Burg and it continues to find new ways to finesse and transition its practices during this pandemic. It’s the reason why Squeeze has been voted the best juice shop in the Best of the Bay Awards on multiple occasions.
Squeeze is loaded with coffee and tea options, too. You’d do well to experience the Wake & Bake, a coffee drink featuring espresso, honey, CBD oil, vanilla and housemade mylk. The Thai Ice Coffee with espresso, sweetened condensed coconut mylk, cardamom, and anise is one of the most energizing and satisfying morning beverages you can get in St. Pete.
Plus, the juice shop serves up power salads, satiating soups, and is staffed by some of the greatest humans in the ‘Burg.
Squeeze has two locations, and you can order ahead at both on Squeeze Juice Works’ website.
