Par Bar to throw massive pup-friendly festival and fundraiser

One of our favorites in the Grand Central District is throwing a massive dog-friendly festival this January, while also raising much-needed funds for one of St. Pete’s beloved animal shelters. Par Bar, the mini golf and games bar located at 2253 1st Avenue South, is hosting “Putts For Mutts” on Saturday, January 25 from 12-4 pm.

The festival for furry friends will showcase a local market full of pet-themed vendors, along with amazing raffles, corn hole, great drinks, ping pong, yard games, and of course, plenty of mini golf. Most importantly, the party is also a fundraiser for Friends of Strays, St. Pete’s oldest no-kill shelter.

Naturally, all festivities are dog-friendly, as the afternoon will be a party for pups just as much as people. Some of St. Pete’s most cherished businesses are chipping in great prizes for the raffles, offering plenty of chances to win throughout the afternoon.

Friends of Strays (2911 47th Ave North) has been open since 1978, helping connect animals in need of rescue with people who will love them. The shelter sees thousands of animals come into its doors every year, and with no government funding, the crucial work being done is supported through events like these.

Putts For Mutts is free to attend, taking place on Saturday, January 25 from 12-4 pm at Par Bar in St. Pete.

Par Bar is a St. Pete standout

People at a mini golf bar

Since opening three years ago, Par Bar has become a cult favorite, and for a long list of reasons. Its mini-golf league nights are some of the most entertaining amateur sports competitions in town, and the challenging, adult-themed 18-hole mini-golf course is a hit with first-timers and long-time golfers alike.

Par Bar also happens to be one of our favorite sports bars in town, and one of the few places in Grand Central with enough TVs to make sure you can catch any game you’re looking for. Plus, their bar always has the best local craft beers on taps, and a lengthy menu of canned cocktails, seltzers, wine, and more. And if you’re hungry, they always have food trucks on weekends to keep game players well-fed.

Of course, we would be remiss not to mention that the games portion of Par Bar is more than just the mini-golf. The bar also has ping pong, trash can beer pong, darts, cornhole, and even a Golden Tee arcade setup.

Par Bar opens on weekdays at noon and 11 am on weekends. Follow Par Bar on Facebook and Instagram for more updates.
