Owned by Samik Patel, Red Chillez Indian Cuisine (13680 Walsingham Road), quietly debuted in Largo in Westside Center. While a small restaurant chain with one location in North Carolina and another in Delaware, Red Chillez packs big, bold flavor, with all the huge, eat-by-hand portions I adore (though they may appreciate you eating with a knife and fork if you dine in).

Boasting renowned chefs, Red Chillez offers diners and take-out eaters an explosive menu of flavors. From Malai Kofta (Cheese and veg balls in onion and cashew nut cream sauce and spices), Tandoori whole pamfret fish (marinated in Indian herbs and cooked in a clay oven), goat vindaloo (Spicy Goan lamb curry flavored with red shallots, cumin seeds and Kashmiri chili), and of course plenty of garlic paan to mop up the sauces, and much more. Check out the complete menu here.

Red Chillez offers decadent gluten-free options

Here’s some good news for those who are gluten-free. A lot of Indian food is naturally gluten-free, often using rice, vegetables, meat, beans, and legumes, along with gluten-free spices. Red Chillez graciously discloses when a dish is gluten-free right under the dish name on the menu (and much of it is). So there are plenty of tasty options to choose from despite dietary restrictions.

See the full menu, and order for pick up/delivery direct on the restaurant’s website.
