WEPPA is located at 118 W. Bay Dr. in Largo

This hidden gem has been flying under our radar, and we are glad we finally caught it in our sights. Located at 118 W. Bay Dr., Largo, WEPAA offers quintessential Puerto Rican Cuisine at affordable prices.

As a die-hard fan of empanadillas, this no-frills gem slings 10 different kinds, and the price is right. Beef, cheese, or chicken empanadillas are only $3.50, while seafood empanadillas are a little more. Crab, lobster, octopus, and conch are $7.50. Frankly, these are the types of things to eat by the 1/2 dozen. And the tostones, well, eat those by the pail.

WEPAA serves traditional Mofongo

WEPAA serves traditional Mofongo, which is made from deep-fried green plantain pieces mashed with garlic and either salt-cured pork, pork crackling, butter, or oil. Some recipes use a salty broth to soften the plantains while mashing.

Of course, Mofongo is even better when stuffed with meats. At WEPAA Mofongo prices range from $17.99 for relleno de pernil (stuffed pork) and the mofongo relleno marisco mixto (mixed seafood) runs $34.99.

If you want to try affordable, traditional Puerto Rican cuisine. WEPAA is the place to go. Follow the restaurant on Instagram and Facebook for more menu teasers. They also operate a location in Palm Harbor at 37611 US Hwy 19 N.
