It seems St. Pete can’t get enough fried chicken, and the city now has a zensational new option. Zaxby’s has officially opened its first St. Pete outpost at 3700 34th Street South, as Creative Loafing first reported.
The southern chain, which got its start in Georgia, is popular for its chicken fingers, wings, and assorted chicken-centric dishes and sides. There are already two other Zaxby’s locations in Pinellas County, with one each in Largo and Pinellas Park. This new location in the Skyway Marina District is a first for the southern portion of the county.

The restaurant had its official opening this Monday, and is now open daily from 10 am – 11 pm. In addition to chicken fingers and boneless and traditional wings, Zaxby’s also has a full menu of sandwiches and several big and filling salads. For first-timers, the Wings and Things Meal is a good way to try out a little of everything, which comes with multiple styles of chicken, Texas toast, crinkle fries, and sauces.
From Zaxby’s: “The Zaxby’s founders had the simple idea to serve delicious chicken fingers, wings, sandwiches and salads in a fun, offbeat atmosphere where you can be yourself. That small idea grew into something much bigger…which is how we ended up here in your neighborhood. Whether you’re driving thru after a hectic day, or catering a special event, we’re excited to serve your community. And if you’re trying us for the first time or you’ve been a fan of our flavor for years, you’ll always have a seat at our table.”
