The Tropical Tiki is the best way to get on the water this summer

A tiki boat on the water

Summer is here and the water is calling: Tropical Tiki Cruises is the best way to enjoy a stress-free day on the Gulf with your crew.

Launching from Madeira Beach in St. Pete and riding out to the John’s Pass sandbar (or anywhere else you like), The Tropical Tiki is easily accessible from anywhere in Pinellas County, and the fun and funky boat has a wide variety of offerings. From quick afternoon jaunts to all-day parties and even sunset cruises, they have options that will fulfill any group’s wishes.

While there are many options to choose from when chartering a day on the water, we love supporting a business that’s locally- and independently-owned. In fact, following post-storm recovery, St Pete-local, Courtney Osgood, brought The Tropical Tiki back to life after the boat was put on hiatus by previous owners. The new and improved floating tiki bar was revived and given a complete vibrant makeover, adorned with bright and fun tropical décor, making it the perfect vessel for a sea-bound escape! All aboard The Tropical Tiki

Accommodating up to six people, each cruise is also helmed by a highly-experienced, certified US Coast Guard-Licensed Captain, meaning you can relax and let the expert take you wherever the moment moves you. And our favorite part: every cruise is bring-your-own food and drink, so you can make it a picnic on the open water with the family, or bring your favorite beer (or margaritas) and have a party on the sandbar. Just remember – no glass!

The experience is highly customizable, with children welcome aboard for a more family-friendly experience, and even dogs allowed on the ship (so long as they meet the pre-approval guidelines). In addition to the licensed captain, each tiki tour also includes a cooler full of ice and water bottles, as well as a Bluetooth speaker ready for you to play whatever jams you like to get the party going.

Tropical Tiki Cruises experiences can be tailored to your plans, and you can even extend the fun if you’re on the water and don’t want to come back to land. There are four primary excursions available: a 1.5-hour daytime cruise, a 3-hour daytime cruise, a 2-hour sunset cruise, and a 6-hour/half-day cruise, each offering room for up to six people. And no matter what time you go, keep an eye out for the local dolphins and manatees swimming alongside the tiki boat.

Party on the high seas with Tropical Tiki Cruises

As you cruise along the beautiful water, parties can stop anytime they like to jump in the water, play on the sandbar, or even stop at a restaurant for a quick bite, drink, or bathroom break.

Of course, just being on the custom-built boat is half the fun. The tiki-themed vessel transports locals and tourists alike to a tropical paradise surrounded by palm trees, pineapples and flamingos, with a thatch roof to block the sun and plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the sea breeze. There’s even room to kick back under the sun and work on your tan.

As you begin daydreaming about afternoons floating in the Gulf, we definitely recommend following The Tropical Tiki on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok to see what they have going on. We’re told to expect plenty of fun surprises, including themed events, experiential cruises, and “never-before-done-on-the-water” activities.

Cruises are available seven days a week and launch from Jungle Prada de Narváez Park (8322 Elbow Ln N, St. Pete), where there’s a large (and free!) parking lot on site. Learn more and book your tiki tour today at thetropicaltiki.com.
