One of the newest spots on St. Pete Beach is serving up some of the area’s hottest (and coldest) Japanese dishes. Yaki-mono Japanese Kitchen is now open at 4599 Gulf Boulevard, dishing up Japanese entrees and sushi lunch boxes six days a week.

The new restaurant is open Monday-Saturday from 11 am to 6 pm, and Yaki-mono has a deep menu of offerings available in that time. The menu features a long list of hot and cold dishes, with more than a dozen appetizers, half a dozen udon noodle plates, massive hibachi offerings, and classic standards like fried rice and lo mein dishes.

In addition to that full menu being available all day, Yaki-mono also has six different “lunch boxes” available from 11 am – 3 pm, each boasting a variety of sushi rolls, edamame salad, and either tuna or salmon. The full menu can be seen online here.

The entirety of the menu offers a full 65 options, a truly deep list. Three different styles of tartare star alongside donburi, chirasi and poke bowls. Snag a cold appetizer, like sunomono, squid salad or tuna tataki mono, or get something hot such as soft shell crab, shrimp tempura, gyoza, or any of their flavorful soups.

For bigger plates, try the udon seafood, yakuri bento feast, pho, or the ramen shoyu – Japanese wheat noodles served in a broth with soy sauce, pork, egg, seaweed and vegetables. All hibachi dishes (with options ranging from veggies and sesame chicken to a hot and spicy marinated filet mignon) are served with zucchini, onions, broccoli, fried rice, and noodles. You aren’t likely to leave hungry.

We haven’t yet visited Yaki-mono, but let us know if you make a visit. Early reviews have heaped praise on the ramen, as well as the large portion sizes.
