Get your Christmas sweaters on – downtown St. Pete is turning into a holiday delight this weekend. The Avenue and Park & Rec announced they are hosting a sprawling Winter Wonderland Block Party on Friday, December 1, starting at 8 pm.

The entire block on 1st Avenue South will be decked out in lights and decor, creating a holiday-themed spectacle for all to enjoy. In addition to the official tree lighting, there will also be snow machines transforming the block into a white Christmas. There will also be mechanical reindeer, they will show Christmas movies on the projector screen, and Jolly Ol’ St. Nick himself will be in the house for pictures and fun.

In addition to all the festivities, four different DJs will take the stage throughout the night, bringing high-energy music to the party all night long. The bars will also be offering holiday-themed drink specials, such as the Sleigh All Day and Naughty Or Nice shots, as well as Spiked Eggnog and Jingle Juice cocktails.

With the official First Friday canceled for the foreseeable future, The Avenue and Park & Rec are stepping it up with this First Friday Winter Wonderland Block Party to ensure the party stays in downtown. While the block party only takes place Friday, both establishments will remain decorated for the holidays through the end of the month.
